NuoDb was founded in Massachusetts. It’s impressive technology has been utilizes by big companies such as Kodiak, Dassault Sytemes, Alfa Sytems and the UAE exchange. It was originally founded in the year 2008 under the name NimbusDB but was later changed to NuoDB in 2011 to improve marketing efforts. The company holds a patented technology under the name “elasticity scalable database”. Jim Starkey is credited for being the founder of this technology.
The tech firm NuoDB has garnered many notable accomplishments. Perhaps some of the more memorable ones are gaining a 14 million dollar investment from venture capital in 2012 and being named an innovation all star in 2014 by the Boston Business Journal and Mass High tech. To this day it has been reported that NuoDB has acquired over sixty million in funding. What an accomplishment.
Let’s get right down to the technology. NuoDb is an elastic SQL database for SQL applications and is often referred to as NewSQL. It is SQL compliant and utilizes an architecture that allows new added servers in the cloud to scale out unblemished. This means that because of no errors the servers run faster and more efficiently even with added info going through nodes.
