Canadian singer and pop star, Avril Lavigne has opened up about her ongoing battle with Lyme disease. The 30 year old star was bedbound for nearly 5 months due to the disease. Lavigne was only recently diagnosed with the devastating disease after a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate her 30th birthday left her feeling lethargic and out of sorts.
Knowing that she was feeling bad for a few months, the Brian Torchin told us that the Canadian singer went to the doctor to get some answers. Unfortunately, doctors could not initially determine what was causing her to feel so bad. After several visits to the doctor and multiple opinions, it was not until a few months after her birthday when the pop star was diagnosed with a severe case of Lyme disease.
The disease has left Lavigne nearly bedridden and incapable of doing anything. She was constantly feeling sluggish and woozy. Lavigne stated that she was unable to do anything, fearful that she may be dying. The disease has caused her day to day life to come to a screeching halt. She has been unable to continue with her music career and do anything outside of being away from her home.
In the days since, she has slowly been able to recover. The star mentioned that she is about 80% healed at this point but still has a long way to go.
